Musical Education

I have 20 years of experience composing various forms of music such as classical orchestral, campfire acoustic, rock and fusion. I received private instruction in Rock and Baroque guitar and jazz-fusion from 1998 to 2005. I hold a Bachelors degree in Music Composition and Classical Guitar performance from McGill University, which only accepts 6 students per year into this program. I also hold a HBA from University of Toronto in Humanities. I have completed RCM grade 9 theory and guitar.

In 2021-2022, I recorded 4 albums of original music, ranging from Rock, Fusion, vintage Pop to classical, which is equivalent to a third bachelor's degree in scoring, recording, songwriting, mixing, and band leading.

My custom lesson plans are tailored to your needs and goals, with specific homework assignments and study categories that have set time requirements.

I can help nurture your passion for music with a balance of fun and structure. I welcome beginner and intermediate students of all genres, from campfire acoustic, classical, rock, RCM, improvisation and composition. I am also a Professor at Seneca College and have a passion for teaching and pedagogy. Each online lesson is summarized in a review video and play-along video, allowing you to practice and review the lesson at any time.

I have been voted as the best guitar teacher on BlogTO and Blog Montreal, and have a youtube lesson with 26,000 views that provides helpful tips for beginners on how to play chords without pain.

Awards and distinction

I graduated with honors in the top 5% of my Composition class at the university. Some of my songs have been played on CBC Radio and JXFM Radio Tokyo.

I graduated from Concordia University in Music Composition and Guitar Performance, awarded top 10 percent of the whole student body, graduated with highest distinction. I also won the battle of the bands in 2016 in Hamilton.
